You want the blue ray home theater system for your home. But you are not able to make the choice for buying. However you have selected one home theater system from the PHILIPS but you are confused whether to buy that or not. You have selected the Philips BDP7500 Blu-ray Home Theater system. Q&A:
Question by harv: how to get bluray player audio through my home theatre system?
i have a sony lcd tv, a panasonic dvd home theatre system and a HD set-top box. Right now, i have component cables connect the HD set-top box and the dvd home theatre to my tv. The audio from the HD box goes to the dvd home theatre “AUX” input (red and white cables). Thats the only input there is. I am buying a bluray player, how can i get the audio from that to go through my home theatre? if they were cheaper, id just buy a Bluray home theatre system to replace the dvd one! Also do you think i would notice any difference switching from component to HDMI or DVI?
Thanks!

I think with your current setup, it is impossible for you to connect your audio due to the limited connectivity of your system.
If you go the route of replacing components, I would discourage purchasing an all-in-one system. Try for a standalone 5.1 or 7.1 receiver, depending on your budget. You can get a decent 5.1 system for $ 300. Make sure it has a few HDMI inputs.
Of course, you would still have to buy the Bluray player as well. You’d be looking at paying $ 450 to $ 500 using this approach.
